Referral to the GCRM

If you are having difficulty getting pregnant, then you may already have seen your GP. He or she can refer you to a gynaecologist or directly to the GCRM. Similarly, your gynaecologist can refer you to the GCRM.

You can also refer yourself to the GCRM and if you wish to do so, please telephone us (0141 - 891 - 8749) to make an appointment.

How long will it take to get an appointment at GCRM?

There are four key stages involved in the treatment process at GCRM;

  1. Attending the GCRM Fertility Assessment Clinic (both partners)
  2. Consultation with GCRM Doctor
  3. Consents visit with the nurse
  4. Starting cycle of treatment

Waiting times for appointments for the Fertility Assessment Clinic and for a Consultation are approximately 2-3 weeks. Consents appointments are approximately 6 weeks. Once you have had your Consents appointment, you can start the treatment process right away.

We would suggest that when you contact us to make an appointment, you consider booking the Fertility Assessment Clinic and Consultation appointments at the same time. In fact, if you know that you will definitely be requiring treatment, it would be advisable to also book your Consents appointment.
