Consultant led Pregnancy Ultrasound Examinations

Introduction
Ultrasound has become a routine part of the care of pregnant women enabling obstetricians and pregnant women insight into the development and appearance of the unborn baby. From screening for Down syndrome and examining the baby for normal development, through to sexing the baby, estimating the baby's size and providing 3D and 4D images, modern ultrasound equipment and technical expertise enables women to avail themselves of a full pregnancy ultrasound service.

The Service
The scanning service is offered at the Glasgow Centre for Reproductive Medicine by Fetal Imaging.

Fetal Imaging is the only ultrasound service in the West of Scotland that only uses consultant obstetricians and specialists in fetal medicine to perform the scans. The consultants have many years experience in pregnancy scanning and unlike other scanning services are able to answer any queries regarding your scan or any other aspect of your pregnancy management.

Types of scan
We offer the following range of scans;

• Early pregnancy scan
• Detailed scan
• Detailed scan with 3D/4D
• Growth and wellbeing scan (with or without 3D/4D)
• Nuchal scan

Each scan is accompanied by digital images of the scan (on CD or DVD as appropriate) and a written report provided.
