GCRM EXPANSION to occupy the whole building at 21 Fifty Pitches Way

Over the next few weeks and months GCRM shall be doubling it’s available space in a £1 million pound expansion plan. GCRM is purchasing the upper floor of the building with the aim of relocating certain clinical activities and all the administration upstairs. This will allow increased theatre and laboratory capacity downstairs.

Patients will see many benefits including the creation of four new consultation rooms and two new scan rooms. Paul Mitchell, GCRM Operations Director states; ‘This is a very exciting time for us, GCRM has grown enormously since it’s inception 4 years ago and it’s vital that we continue to provide our patients with the best environment possible within which to start their treatment journey. The investment in the infrastructure and equipment will ensure our staff can also continue to provide the very highest standards of care’.

Expansion Update

28/03/11 - Building warrant has been granted by the local council so building work can start in earnest. We are due to have the facility handed over to us by Fri 13th May. We will then have furniture and equipment to install, aiming to have everything operational by 1st June.

27/06/11 – Work completed and new facility open.

Work was completed on the first floor expansion 2 weeks ago and since that time the GCRM team have been busy moving in equipment. The facility is now fully operational with all scans, assessments and consultations taking place upstairs.

Paul (Mitchell) states; ‘Initial feedback from patients is that they are all very impressed with the new facility. Also the staff area all extremely happy with the new environment they have to work in.’

Work has now started downstairs to create an additional patient recovery room and also more office and storage space for the staff in the lab and theatre.
