GCRM achieves its 300th clinical pregnancy.

GCRM has only been open two and a half years but in that time it has established itself as the most successful IVF unit in Scotland.

It has performed over 1000 assisted reproduction treatment cycles and is now pleased to announce its 300th clinical pregnancy. This is a huge achievement and is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the GCRM team.

Many GCRM patients have now successfully delivered their babies and the staff at GCRM are always delighted to see the proud parents back at the centre with their new arrivals. The centre continues to grow and develop; always looking to provide its patients with the best treatment possible.

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) continues to publish the latest live birth and clinical pregnancy rate data for each IVF centre in the UK on its website www.hfea.gov.uk. This information can be accessed via its ‘Find a clinic’ option.

The majority of treatment cycles conducted will always be IVF or ICSI cycles but the GCRM continues to operate the largest egg donation programme in Scotland. This is achieved through its very successful ‘Egg Share Programme’. This programme allows patients who meet certain eligibility criteria (see Egg Share and Donor Programmes page) to receive treatment at a much reduced cost in return for half of their eggs. Many of the couples who participate in the programme will admit that initially their main motivation for joining the programme would have been the financial benefit but that through discussing the programme with the staff they quickly realised the huge part they would be playing in helping someone else.

If you require any further information on the treatment options available at GCRM (including egg sharing), please get in touch.
